Visitors to the Újszeged Open-Air Stage have a remarkable crime play in store for them: Graham Linehan’s The Ladykillers has been cracking up audiences with its humour for more than half a century. The kind elderly widow Mrs Wilberforce lives alone in a London suburb and, in order to have a bit of company, periodically lets out her empty rooms to lodgers. One day, Professor Marcus and his associates knock on her door, pretending to be musicians. Soon enough, however, it emerges that the “amateur string quartet” is actually a band of robbers comprised of truly hardened criminals. Of course, the ruse is quickly discovered, prompting the gangsters to attempt to get rid of their meddlesome landlady...
