The Deputy Mayor of New York hosts a friendly soiree to celebrate his 10-year wedding anniversary. The arriving elegant couples end up unable to enjoy the night, though, as the hosts have disappeared, the help is missing, dinner is nowhere to be seen, when the sound of gunshots erupts from upstairs.
Rumors start brewing instantly – the wildest of allegations begin to spread among the guests, suddenly everyone can recall a secret to hushedly share with their neighbour, all while trying desperately to avoid scandal and so, trying to keep their own secrets from spilling. No wonder, then, that by the time police arrives, the story grows outlandish enough to put even the most salacious of gossip columns to shame…

The Master of Comedy, Neil Simon had created a true gem with this piece. A farce infused with a taste of murder mystery, the play directed by Jászai Mari Award winner Sándor Nagy is able to keep the audience at the edge of their seats from start to finish, while providing actors with an excellent opportunity to showcase their comedic chops.  Viewers are left with nothing else to do than sit back and enjoy the comedy of rumors and laugh at the trials and tribulations of the upper crust, performed by Veres1Színház.
